CREATION FESTIVAL 2017: Q&A with Sink In (+ Gallery)

L.A.-based (but Hershey grown) pop punk band, Sink In returned to perform at the Fringe Stage at Creation Festival Northeast for the second year in a row. We first met the guys of Sink In at last year’s Creation Festival, and loved getting the chance to catch up with them this year exactly 365 days later.

Returning to the Creation Festival stage for the second year in a row was Nashville’s alternative rock band, VERIDIA. Comprised of Deena Jakoub (vocals), Brandon Brown (guitar), and Kyle Levy (drums), the trio constantly creates high energy performances that are engaging for audiences across the nation.

We met up with the band before their set on Friday of Creation Festival Northeast 2017 and chatted about the festival, their recent music, and upcoming releases.

CREATION FESTIVAL 2017: Everything You Need to Know Before the Festival

We’re so excited to be heading to Creation Festival Northeast 2017 for the second year in a row!

Founded in 1979, Creation Festival rallies the largest names in Christian music to perform every year, now with two separate locations – Creation Northeast in Mt. Union, PA, and Creation Northwest in Kennewick, WA. Easily the largest Christian music festival in the country, Creation Festival is an annual pilgrimage for many groups across the nation. It’s a perfect retreat for youth groups, college students, church families, or any group of friends to spend time together, learning from speakers throughout the week, and enjoying great musical performances of any genre at almost any time of day.

Meet Avery Lynch // INTERVIEW

A little bit of sweet mixed with a great deal of strength describes this up-and-comer’s vocal style, easily comparable to that of Tori Kelly. The 17-year-old singer songwriter hailing from Doylestown, Pennsylvania began playing piano at the age of five, and writing her own songs a year after that. What started as toying around with “one of those little toy pianos that only has 15 keys and makes the cool sound effects” turned into a passion for creating music that has only grown throughout her entire life. . .

PLAID BRIXX Interview: Haircuts, Wipeouts, and Marriage Proposals

When I first met the lads of Plaid Brixx twelve months ago, I was struck by the sheer positivity exuding from these three young guys from Ohio. I had stumbled upon
a trio of high-energy, captivating musicians who were on a mission to make upbeat, uplifting music. Fast forward one year, and absolutely nothing has
changed about their demeanor. . .

In 2013, Thrill Mill launched Thrival Innovation + Music Festival, which is a four-day annual event featuring sessions of innovation-focused programming from leaders who are feeding into the development of new technology and ideas. The daily lineup includes free lectures and speakers, with ticketed keynote events held in the evenings. The programming lineup wraps up with a two-day music festival experience, which was held this year at Carrie Furnace, the perfect post-industrial backdrop to such an event. . .

#ThrowbackThursday: Finding My Family Through Pentatonix

This is the story of how I met my family.

Okay, so not my actual family, but I firmly believe that family isn’t always defined by blood relation. It’s the people that stick by you no matter what, the ones that are there to hear you complain about your parents or to help you through the difficult decision process of college and career paths. They’re the ones who challenge you to challenge yourself – to overcome fears and to live freely, being unapologetically yourself.

So really, this is how music turned five different people into unlikely friends – and eventually into family: . . .

Graceful Closure Interview

Two brothers, Jared and Bryce, and their friend Matt make up the band known as Graceful Closure. All homeschooled, the three guys grew up together and made the most of their free time by creating music. “Our youth pastor basically forced us to do it,” Jared states regarding the band’s formation. “It was like ‘we need a band for this thing’. I literally had a five-day notice I needed to play guitar" . . .
